The Municipality of Lugait

The municipality of Lugait in the province of Misamis Oriental was founded on March 16, 1961 by virtue of Executive Order No. 425 issued by then President Carlos P. Garcia.



Role of the Municipality

The Municipality of Lugait consisting of 8 barangays namely: Poblacion, Biga, Calangahan, Lower Talacogon, Upper Talacogon, Aya-aya, Kaluknayan and Betahon serves primarily as a general purpose government for the coordination and delivery of basic, regular and direct services and effective governance to the inhabitants within its territorial jurisdiction.

 

  RECENT AWARDS
 
•Gawad Kampeon ng Kabataang Pilipino (10 Outstanding Legislators for Youth Development of the Philippines) conferred to Vice-Mayor Bruce Colao by the National Youth Commission (NYC) and the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) (2006)

• Gawad Kalasag Award for the Municipal Disaster Management Program conferred by the Office of Civil Defence (OCD) for Region-10 (2005/2006)

• Most Child-Friendly Municipality of the Province of Misamis Oriental under the Presidential Search for Most Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities in the Philippines (2006)
